Monroe Parks and Recreation Department offers excellent facilities and recreation areas to promote active living. Residents of all ages are invited to join the Monroe Aquatics and Fitness Center and take advantage of their various amenities. Members receive optimum service from two aerobic studios and a double gymnasium, to personal training programs and nursery and childcare services. Also, members gain full access to their state-of-the-art weight room, fitness classes, sauna, whirlpool and indoor run/walking track. An eight-lane pool and training pool are available. The latest addition is a 2.5 acres outdoor water park. Construction is underway for the City s first greenway project, located along Bearskin Creek connecting several City parks and downtown. If a leisurely day is desired, bring the children and relax at Belk Tonawanda Park: colorful playground equipment provides hours of fun.
