INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. -- Mayor John Quinn was first to go public with his allegations of mistreatment in an escalating situation at the Union County town hall, but both sides had their say at the town meeting Tuesday night.

Earlier this year, the town council voted to ban Quinn from work areas at town hall and ordered him to have no contact with town staff. At their town meeting last month, they voted to replace the mayor’s section in the Indian Trail newsletter with one from the town manager. Full Story

I'd be interested in hearing the whole story...
People can have an opinion, but we can't pass judgment til we hear the whole story. My question is will we ever hear the whole story.
I can't find a way to add a discussion in this forum so I will reply here. I am interested in any and all information concerning the upcoming elections in Indian Trail. We were told that certain council members had been holding up the light at Faith church and Indian Trail unionville (a very dangerous intersection) hoping to divert those funds elsewhere. I do not want to vote for anyone that thinks that is a good idea! Finally the light is actually going up (and before someone has gotten killed there). I also don't want to vote for someone who wants Indian Trail to form its own police department. I think the Sheriff dept has served us well and i want to keep that contract going.

I realize that this comes from the person who has been accused but it seems to me that much of what is said is factual information that should be able to be checked - if the records are open to citizens.
Thank you for the link.

Karen, you can add your own discussions by clicking "add discussion" in the top right corner. PLEASE let me know if you need help with how to do that, because we'd love to hear from you and our other members, and would hate to know you weren't posting because you don't understand how!

Now for the "Hot Topic"- it's hard, as site owners, to decide what opinions to support (or not) when it comes to politics, and we've chosen to maintain a politically neutral stance because we don't want a portion of our potential members to be offended due to the appearance that the website is somehow politically affiliated in some way.

However, for me personally, I think the fact that Mr. Quinn continues to talk, despite the backlash he's receiving, makes me believe that these are things he truly believes in. He may be unpopular among his peers, and therefore the "other side" has a more powerful and popular opinion, but Mr. Quinn's persistence makes me more likely to listen. Sure, maybe he's doing it "the wrong way" but what choice does he have if he's tried the "right" way and got shunned (and shushed) for it. I just think people need to move beyond the "drama" and truly listen and learn for themselves what is or isn't the truth about what's going on and what's being said.

I'm a firm believer in being educated about things before making a decision, and I feel that to understand, you have to listen to all sides and all views. Including Mr. Quinn's, even if a reader feels that his methods lack tact.

I have read some of his posts, and there were several points he made that have me truly concerned.
