The U.S. Census Bureau currently is hiring field positions to locate and interview people in their neighborhoods to collect confidential information for the 2010 Census. Called enumerators, the people hired will go through security screening, including fingerprinting, paid training to learn interview techniques, and learn to read census maps and fill out the forms.

The jobs will last five to 10 weeks and workers will canvas primarily at night and on weekends when people are home. Enumerators must have their own cars and will be reimbursed for mileage. For more information, visit www.2010censusjobs.gov or call 704-886-5840.
